Barrier-free access to official buildings

The buildings of the Ministry are to be accessible for everybody. Therefore, measures to achieve barrier-free access according to the Federal Law on Equal Opportunities for Disabled Persons (“Bundesbehindertengleichstellungsgesetz”, BGStG) have been taken.

At the locations of the central management unit of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management (BML)

barrier-free access has been implemented by means of measures. Further measures to improve barrier-free accessibility were taken in 2023.

Location Stubenring 12, 1010 Vienna/Entrance Biberstraße 14

To ensure that wheelchair users in particular have unrestricted access via the rear entrance at Biberstraße 14, the bevelled edge has been structurally renewed.

Location Marxergasse 2, 1030 Vienna

Conversion/removal of the motor cylinder at the door in the inner courtyard to the lift and installation of an automatic swing door opener to ensure permanent operation of the door.

Opening and closing continues to work via the external and internal wall switch.

Barrier-free access to external agencies

At the locations of the external agencies of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management (BML) new construction, reconstruction and refurbishing works take account of ensuring barrier-free access wherever possible.

At the torrent and avalanche control centre in Lungau (5580 Tamsweg), barrier-free access for customer service was improved in 2023 (new ramp with a lower inclination).

In 2023, the new construction of 2 IT examination rooms (each for 36 students and one teacher) and a small utility room were realised and completed at the Federal Secondary College HBLA Bruck/ Mur without any barriers.
